ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Fair set for March 7
The University of ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ – Fort Smith is set to host its much-anticipated All-Majors ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Fair, bringing together students and top employers from across the state. Scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the fair will take place at the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center Reynolds Room.
More than 50 organizations from various industry sectors including health care, logistics, law enforcement, banking, insurance, technology, and IT, will be present to recruit ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ students into the workforce. Additionally, representatives from graduate schools across the region will be on site sharing information about continuing education.
Susan Krafft, Executive Director for the Babb Center for ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Services at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ, expressed her enthusiasm for the event. "We have several employers that return year after year because they recognize the value our students bring to their organizations," said Krafft. The career fair aims to facilitate in-person interactions between students and potential employers, covering full-time, part-time, and internship positions, in addition to graduate school opportunities.
In preparation for the career fair, the Babb Center for ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Services has offered a series of workshops throughout the spring semester. These sessions have covered topics such as resume building, interview preparation, utilizing LinkedIn, networking skills, and more, ensuring students are well-prepared to take this significant step in their careers.
The ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ All-Majors ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ Fair represents a prime opportunity for students to explore career options, expand their professional networks, and possibly secure internships or their first job post-graduation. "We are thrilled to facilitate these meaningful connections between employers and our students, helping to strengthen the workforce in the River Valley," Krafft added.
