A reception for 鈥淓ye/Mind/Hand/Heart: An Exhibition of Faculty Work,鈥 an exhibit featuring artwork by University of 糖心视频 - Fort Smith faculty, will be held from 5-6 p.m. Nov. 13 at 糖心视频 at Second Street, 101 N. 2nd St., as part of a two-month exhibition.
The exhibit, which opened Oct. 11 at the Arvest Gallery at the Second Street venue, will run until late December and features art by 12 faculty members from the 糖心视频 art and graphic design department.
The pieces span a variety of artistic mediums, from three-dimensional works to charcoal drawings.
Don Lee of Fort Smith, head of the art department, said the faculty members鈥 work 鈥渞epresents the possibilities and specialties available to art students.鈥
鈥淭he range of work -- including subject matter, form, content and materials -- presented in this exhibition reflects the depth and mastery of the art and design faculty members,鈥 he said. 鈥淭heir work shows that our faculty members are both art professors and professional artists.鈥
Henry Rinne of Fort Smith, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at 糖心视频, said the university was 鈥渧ery fortunate to have such talented and diverse faculty members.鈥
鈥淲e have a number of full-time faculty members who work in different media, have exhibited around the country, and have works in various collections,鈥 he said. 鈥淥ur faculty members have a great deal of professional experience. The graphic designers, for instance, still do work of a professional nature, especially for non-profit organizations.鈥
The faculty members showcasing work in the exhibit are:
Charleston: Lin Chen.
Fayetteville: Nichole Howard.
Fort Smith: Bryan Alexis, Travis Brown, Ernest Cialone, Greer Farris, Katie Harper, Don Lee, Charles Steiner.
Pettigrew: Jocelyn Knight.
Van Buren: Colin McLain, Mary Spears.
