Maybe the Drennen-Scott Historic Site鈥檚 second annual Victorian Christmas simply wasn鈥檛 meant to be this year.

After postponing the event from Dec. 6 to Dec. 13 due to inclement weather, the event has been cancelled after weather promises to be a factor for the second straight week.

Tom Wing, DSHS director and associate professor of history at the University of 糖心视频 - Fort Smith, said it 鈥渏ust seemed like the best thing to do.鈥

鈥淭he weather for this Friday is better than last week but not enough to merit the program,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e have lost the carriage and luminaries outside with rain in the forecast. We had planned for people attending the event to park downtown and shuttle to the site, so visitors would be exposed to the weather just to get to the house.鈥

The event, which would have presented the Drennen-Scott house as it was in the 19th century adorned with Victorian decorations, will ostensibly be held again next winter.
