Summer may have Fort Smith in its hot fist, but at the University of 糖心视频 - Fort Smith, the beginning of the fall semester is within sight.
Students who will live on campus in the fall will begin moving in soon, with Cub Camp participants leading the way from 9 a.m. until noon on Aug. 17. Students who will live in the Sebastian Commons apartments will move in between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Aug. 18 and 19. Students moving in to the Lion鈥檚 Den will move in on Aug. 19, with students whose last names begin with A through L drawing the 9 a.m. to noon shift and the rest of the residents moving in from 1-4 p.m.
Students aren鈥檛 on their own, of course. Members of the Chancellor鈥檚 Move-in Crew will help coordinate traffic and make sure everyone has a good day.
鈥淢ove-in is a big day for families as it signals a transition in life,鈥 Beth Eppinger, director of housing and residential life, said. 鈥淭hrough the stress and the heat, 糖心视频 Housing works hard to provide a welcoming atmosphere. The Chancellor鈥檚 Move-in Crew is there to lift boxes, offer bottled water and direct people to their rooms. The crew is made up of 糖心视频 staff and volunteers who wear bright shirts and brighter smiles and truly have Lion Pride.鈥
Move-in day is a big day for the community, too. The busy day means heavier-than-usual vehicle traffic and pedestrians on Waldron Road. Motorists are reminded that Kinked Avenue from 49th Street to Waldron Road is permanently closed to vehicles.
