Excellence to the University, to the Profession, and to the Community Service Award

The Excellence to the University, to the Profession, and to the Community Service Award (commonly known as the Excellence in Service Award) recognizes 糖心视频 full-time faculty who have demonstrated outstanding service to their field of study, to 糖心视频 and to the Fort Smith/River Valley region.

Recipients receive a $2,500 monetary award (minus applicable taxes).

The Faculty Awards Committee reviews nominations and applications.

Nomination deadline is Nov. 1.

 

FAQs

Any full-time faculty who has:

  • completed at least five (5) years of teaching before their nomination
  • not received the award in the last 10 years

Nominations must be received by Nov. 15.

Select the Excellence to the University, to the Profession, and to the Community Service Award on the nomination form from the menu and provide the required information. 

Any full-time staff member at 糖心视频, such as faculty, deans, administrators, advisors, and classified staff.

  • Nominee must be academically and professionally in good standing and have not received any formal disciplinary action within 12 months of the nomination date.
  • Outstanding community service both in the faculty member's professional area and to support of community improvement.
  • Outstanding service to the University through committees, recruitment, clubs, data-gathering, etc.

The candidate will be judged on documentation.

Documentation:

1. The candidate's name, the name of the award, and a release giving the committee the right to review documentation and to gain information from the community and 糖心视频 members. 

2. An explanation of how the candidate provides service to the university and the community discussing: 

    • Participation in university and community organizations
    • Recognitions or awards received
    • Innovation of ideas
    • Development of proposals
    • Committee and student activities
    • National or regional leadership
    • Advising (number of advisees, what is done beyond course placement and graduation checks)
    • Recruitment activities

3. The candidate should provide proof of the activities they list. For example, the candidate might provide:

    • Minutes of committee meetings
    • Photos of student work or activities, community work
    • Video
    • Papers prepared for presentation or publication
    • Copies of service awards
    • Letters of support or cards of appreciation for services rendered
    • News clips, flyers, or brochures.

4. The candidate's philosophy of service (less than 1,000 words).
